I intentionally chose three tildes (name without date) for that comment because it was of no real importance. It seems logical to date items if import but not necessarily every little notation, IMO. ==What is ETTV?==

ETTV allows you to connect up to a special server using your PC, and view a game in progress much like a spectator would. But it's more powerful than any normal spectator function - ETTV allows you all the features of a shoutcaster - being able to see the names of players over their heads, seeing a dynamite timer over the dynamite, etc. You can even watch spectators on the server, such as 'cameramen', people that ensure you get the best overview shots of battles, the best 1st person views during 1 on 1's, and those crucial views just before a panzer dishes out some ownage on an unsuspecting enemy group.

Because you're using ETTV rather than just spectating the game, the server can relay the broadcast of the game to other servers - meaning 100's or even 1000's of us can watch world-class teams battling without lagging them out by crowding their server.

Thanks The Birdman for the work one the server and client cvar and command list. They are very helpful. However, it seems like there is a basic problem. The pitatable doesn't allow formatting and linking, and some of these things are complex enough to justify having their own page. Some command/cvars are related, and are described on a single page (e.g. Physics cvars).

Putting each item on it's own page, and using a wiki catagory to generate a bare list of the names (as in :Category:ETPro:Client Cvars) isn't a complete solution either. When trying to find a command or cvar, without knowing exactly what it is, you want to look at a list with brief descriptions of each item, and a link to further information where it is available. Suggestions as to how to cleanly achieve this with wiki are requested.
I guess someone with too much time on his hands could convert the tables to wiki tables. Descriptions can be shortened immensely with linking. --Lagger 21:01, 27 April 2006 (PDT)

And of course that someone would be me. Anyways, as a test, I have converted the first table to a wiki table using . The tradeoff is that it's basically a pain to insert new entries. If it doesn't work out just revert the changes. --Lagger 21:43, 27 April 2006 (PDT)

I was inspired by the Q4MAX Wiki to come here and do the same thing for ETPro; I wasn't aware there was already a list. The anchored links they use seems to do pretty much what ReyalP requested. I'd tackle it if everyone was agreeable, but I'm uncomfortable making major edits without permission; even if it is a Wiki.

s_list will display a list of all sounds and whether they're currently in RAM, along with a summary at the end, e.g.:
53950[16bit] : sound/etpro/osp_fight.wav[resident ]
52808[16bit] : sound/etpro/osp_goat.wav[resident ]
Total resident: 45634975

105060 bytes (0.10MB) free sound buffer memory, 50521500 bytes (48.18MB) total used
92463100 bytes (88.18MB) sound buffer memory have been allocated since the last SND_setup

This example is with <tt>com_soundmegs 48</tt>, and it shows that if I wanted to keep all the sound in memory, I'd want to shoot for soundmegs 96 or so. In reality, that's probably overkill (some large sounds, like the per-level voiceover in the limbo menu, are rarely used), but I'm pretty sure they're all loaded when you load the level, regardless (and just freed again if you use up soundmegs.) So, basically, a high-ish soundmegs is good, but setting it really high probably won't help much unless you have a really slow/busy disk but a lot of RAM.

Note that sample rate affects sound memory needs (s_khz 44 will use twice as much memory as 22, which in turn uses twice as much as 11).

Hunk and Zone
meminfo will display information about the hunk and the zone:
67108864 bytes ( 64.00 MB) total hunk <- current com_hunkMegs
25165824 bytes ( 24.00 MB) total zone <- current com_zoneMegs
0 bytes ( 0.00 MB) high mark
384 bytes ( 0.00 MB) high permanent
82624 bytes ( 0.08 MB) high temp
18769504 bytes ( 17.90 MB) high tempHighwater <- top high hunk usage from temporary allocations

42607264 bytes ( 40.63 MB) total hunk in use <- current hunk in use
18769120 bytes ( 17.90 MB) unused highwater <- temporary hunk memory that wasn't reused

2055832 bytes ( 1.96 MB) in 3088 zone blocks <- current zone usage
0 bytes ( 0.00 MB) in dynamic botlib
1110492 bytes ( 1.06 MB) in dynamic renderer
945340 bytes ( 0.90 MB) in dynamic other
82888 bytes ( 0.08 MB) in small Zone memory

(note the comments to the right of each line)
So, the client uses a fair bit of hunk memory (adding together the total hunk and the unused highwater, my com_hunkmegs of 64 looks pretty good), a lot of sound memory, and very little zone memory.

The value of com_zonemegs can only be set via commandline (+set com_zonemegs xx). If set in the config, the desired value will only show as "latched." Regardless, meminfo always lists zone as 24 (the default), which would imply that this value cannot be changed.

So, the client uses a fair bit of hunk memory (adding together the total hunk and the unused highwater, my com_hunkmegs of 64 looks pretty good), a lot of sound memory, and very little zone memory.

Ouroboro:

Admins may enforce filters on public text chats. While the primary use is for keeping cursing under control, some admins have made creative use of the filter to prevent accidental security leaks, such as filtering rcon password typos.

fireteam chats are never filtered, the logic behind this is that players who find someone's fireteam chats offensive may simply eject the offending player from the fireteam, or leave the fireteam themselves.

Also the filter only works for complete words, without colour codes etc. So you will need to create additional filters for such methods of circumventing the original filter such as "s h i t". But this also means that if you create a filter for the word "ass", all words that contain ass would also be filtered such as "Class" and "Password" etc.

How to use:
b_cursefilter is a space separated list of words the cursefilter will watch for.

b_cursefilteraction is the action to take when a word on the watchlist is found. there are 4 possible settings:
<pre>0 - do nothing
1 - silently drop the chat (player sees their chat, but nobody else does)
2 - censor b_cursefilter words with asterisks
3 - (default) totally block any chat containing a b_cursefilter word</pre>
